Why choose Optiskin film ?  

Thanks to its polyurethane backing, Optiskin film prevents the entry of water and bacteria into the wound, whilst allowing the wound to breathe and avoid the risk of maceration.

How to use this product?  

  1. Preparing the skin
  • If necessary, shave the skin to ensure good adhesion of the dressing.
  • Clean and disinfect the wound and its surrounding area or the perfusion zone., rinse and dry thoroughly
  • If necessary, monitor wound hemostasis (stop any flow of blood).

Renew the film, according to the instructions for use, on average every 2 or 3 days and after each shower, bath or balneotherapy in the event of the presence of folds on the film or of any doubt on the dryness of the underlying protected area.

On medical prescription, the film can be kept in place for up to 7 days.

  • Avoid creating a tension during application.
  • Avoid bathing or any balneotherapy session if the film does not cover completely the catheter, the wound or the dressing
  • In any case, inspect the wound or puncture site and the surrounding area regularly, in order to detect any signs of infection such as pain, redness, oedema, odour or pus formation.
  • In case of any doubt, contact your physician or health care professional
  • Optiskin Film is not designed to replace sutures.
  • Do not use Optiskin film on infected wounds, infected puncture sites, on deep, bleeding or highly exudative wounds.
  • Do not use for covering central venous catheters.
  • Single use (otherwise risk of infection) – Do not re-sterilize.
  • Check the integrity of the individual package to ensure sterility before use.
  • Do not use Optiskin Film more than 30 consecutive days
  • Avoid prolonged light exposure
